Cedar and dark chocolate lead, with espresso and toasted almond behind them and a black pepper and leather edge that builds through the second half. The draw is smooth and the cigar gains richness rather than heat as it goes. The wrapper is medium brown, lightly oily and fine in texture. It burns evenly when it has been rested and cut properly, holding a compact light grey ash in sections an inch long. Medium to full, and the darkest of the small Montecristos.
