Ediciones Limitadas are released once and not repeated. Habanos has produced them since 2000, using wrappers aged at least two years and vitolas that are not part of the standard range, which is why an EL of a familiar marca often tastes noticeably darker and fuller than the regular production version. Because they are made once, prices tend to rise rather than fall after release, and boxes are worth buying when you see them rather than waiting. Regional Editions work on a similar principle but are made for a single market.
