The Gran Reserva programme takes leaf from a single year and ages it substantially longer than standard production, and it shows in how settled this smokes. The palate is soft and gently sweet, with pepper and wood running through it, and the aroma is intense but pleasant: sweet notes recalling honey, wood and leather. The wrapper is a natural brown, thin and barely veined; the burn is very regular and the ash a matte medium grey. Medium to full. A cigar to open for something worth marking, and priced accordingly.
