1. The Oliva Family Dynasty

The story began in 1886 when Melanio Oliva started growing tobacco in San Juan y Martínez, Cuba. Following the Cuban revolution, his grandson Gilberto Oliva Sr. traveled across Honduras, Panama, Mexico, and the Philippines before discovering that the volcanic soils of Nicaragua shared the closest mineral richness to Cuba’s famed Vuelta Abajo.

In 1995, Gilberto and his sons launched their first handmade brand, cementing their reputation as premier tobacco growers and blenders.
